Southampton rocked in winger chase, club standing strong

The Southampton fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club are interested in a young winger.

According to a report in the Daily Echo, the Premier League side are interested in taking 22 year old Solly March to St Mary’s this summer.

The news has prompted March’s current club, Brighton & Hove Albion, to open talks with regards to a new contract in the hope that he will remain with the Seagulls next season.

March is the type of talent that the Saints are likely to sign, being a young and hungry talented footballer, as well as appealing to their homegrown quota.

Manager Chris Hughton will be hopeful a deal can be done to keep the academy graduate at the club, despite the winger turning down the club’s recent contract offer.

The Saints were reportedly interested back in 2014, but failed to act on their interest, and despite March missing a majority of last season through injury it appears that a bid could be imminent.

How good can March become? Let us know below…
