Southampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are once again full of optimism as the new season approaches, losing one of the best managers in the Premier League is like water off a ducks back to them after the events of the last few years.
According to reports in the Southern Daily Echo, the Saints are considering a move Republic of Ireland international, Darren Randolph.
The South Coast side are in the market for another goal keeper having decided not to sign Maarten Stekelenburg after a season on loan and seeing Kelvin Davis retire and Claude Puel sees the West Ham stopper as the perfect understudy for England ‘keeper, Fraser Forster.
The 29-year-old featured in all four of the Republic of Ireland’s matches at this summer’s Euros and put in some eye catching performances along the way.
According to the Echo, Saints are on the look out for two more priority signings this summer, a back-up keeper and cover for Portuguese right-back, Cedric Soares.
