‘Totally baffling’, ‘Better than Tadic’ – Southampton fans urge Pellegrino to make key decision

The Saints fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling satisfied following their sides narrow victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday tea-time.

Victory for the Saints saw them rise three places above West-Brom to 10th in the table, following a satisfactory start to the season for the south coast outfit. New manager Mauricio Pellegrino, who was appointed in the summer, will be feeling content with how his side have begun as he continues to try and establish the best possible system for the players at his disposal.

Southampton had Moroccan attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal to thank for their victory on Saturday, as his magnificent solo effort in the 86th minute snatched the 3-points for his side as the game appeared to be heading for a stalemate.

Boufal picked up the ball midway inside his own half, shrugged off the challenge of Allan Nyom, carried the ball half the length of the pitch and took the ball past 4 players before shifting the ball from left to right to curl the ball delightfully into the bottom corner from the 18-yard line.

It was a goal worthy of winning any game of football, and unsurprisingly his impact has the Southampton fans calling for Boufal’s inclusion from the outset in future.

The manner in which Boufal celebrated in-front of his manager suggests he is feeling deeply frustrated with his current lack of first-team opportunities, and the feeling appears to be reciprocated by the saints supporters.

Here’s what the fans had to say on Twitter…
