Southampton have already seen a number of their players leave this winter and could be about to see another depart.
The striker appears to have fallen out of favour under Ralph Hasenhuttl following the manager’s arrival in December.
Having signed for £4.68million by Ronald Koeman in the January 2016, per Transfermarkt, Austin has featured regularly.
However, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2020, it appears Southampton are open to letting the former Queens Park Rangers forward leave.
Hasenhuttl has already conducted a clear out of his squad this January, having seen the likes of Wesley Hoedt, Manolo Gabbiadini, Cedric Soares and Steven Davis all depart.
It does come as a bit of a surprise to hear that Southampton are preparing to listen to offers for Austin.
The 29-year-old has come up with a number of key goals for The Saints since arriving, however, he clearly appears to be on the fringes of Hasenhuttl’s first-team plans this season.
Whether he moves on in the final week of the January transfer window or in the summer remains to be seen though.
