Southampton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping Mark Hughes can make a number of changes this summer to ensure the club is not near the bottom of the Premier League table at the end of the season.
The Saints spent the majority of the last campaign entertaining the possibility of playing Championship football, however, the former Stoke City manager managed to improve his team in the final few months and guide them to safety with just one match left to play.
Hughes will be determined to make a number of changes this summer to ensure there is not a repeat of their struggles and is thought to be on the lookout for attacking threats to help their concerns.
According to the Daily Mirror, he could be ready to turn his attention to Everton’s Ademola Lookman. The winger, who spent the second half of the year on loan to Red Bull Leipzig, is set to hold talks with Marco Silva about his future and the Saints could be prepared to swoop in if talks are not productive.
The former Charlton Athletic youngster has had rather limited opportunities since his move to Goodison Park and certainly made an impression during his time in the Bundesliga. He is a speedy winger that has a talented ability and would certainly cause defences problems when on the attack, something that Southampton have lacked in the final third at times.
The Southampton fans in the Tavern would be delighted to see the 20-year-old at the club, but will know he could come at a costly price, whilst there will be other teams that will be interested in him should he become available this summer.
