Ralph Hasenhuttl has started the revamp of his Southampton attack with the addition of Moussa Djenepo from Standard Liege, and he does not look finished there.

According to The Sun, the Saints are looking to tie up a deal for Birmingham City striker Che Adams, while L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) are reporting that the club are also interested in Bordeaux forward Francois Kamano.

With Danny Ings having struggled with injuries last season and Mohamed Elyounoussi, who failed to score a single Premier League goal, failing to make an impact, it is not hard to understand Hasenhuttl's recruitment strategy this summer.

That being said, amid this rebuild of the team's attack, the former RB Leipzig boss would be crazy to forget about his defence.

There are rumours that Ryan Bertrand could leave before the start of the new campaign, with the Daily Mail reporting that both Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are interested in his services. Matt Targett alone would surely not be enough for that left-back position.

Meanwhile, Southampton also look like they could do with another central defender. Turning 31 in August, Maya Yoshida is not getting any younger. And with Jannik Vestergaard's lack of pace, something highlighted by Bleacher Report when the 26-year-old was being linked with a move to Tottenham back in 2016, there will always be concerns whenever the Saints come up against a fast striker with him in the side.

Ultimately, after all of these potential attacking signings, Hasenhuttl would be wise to follow them up with a couple of defensive additions.
