Southampton have managed to avoid the drop this season after an excellent turnaround in the last few months.

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has done an excellent job of turning things right around and he will be solely focused on next season now, where he will be hoping to add some quality over the summer and push the Saints up the table in the 2019/20 season.

Indeed, big money signings might well be the order of the day for the Saints, and this weekend has seen the club linked with a £30m move for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The big Serbian striker was one of few shining lights in the Cottagers squad this season as he netted 11 goals in what was a dismal campaign for the Londoners, and he will surely be one of many players who seek a move away from the club.

He'd be perfect too for Southampton, who seemingly lack a bit of presence up front with the likes of Shane Long and Danny Ings both on the small side, and Charlie Austin struggling to get back to anywhere near his best football.

While the fee might be a hefty one, sometimes it is simply worth splashing the money on people who you know will guarantee the goals, and Mitrovic is as good a guarantee of that based on his form from the last two years.

Southampton need new faces, and Hasenhuttl has done more than enough to earn the backing of his board this summer you would think.
