It is shaping up to be an interesting transfer window down on the south coast for Southampton both in terms of arrivals and departures.

The Premier League outfit have already made their first signing of the summer after the capture of Moussa Djenepo, which could soon be followed by some outgoings.

And according to the Daily Mail, that could include Ryan Bertrand, with both Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid said to be interested.

A good servant for the club since joining from Chelsea back in 2014, the Saints should not be in a rush to push the 29-year-old out of the exit door.

From his perspective, though, a new challenge elsewhere does not sound like a terrible idea, with Inter coming across as a potentially great adventure.

The chance to play at the top of Serie A, in the Champions League and under Antonio Conte. This could be just what Bertrand needs to get back into the England national team.

And in a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 system, which you would expect Conte to utilise at the San Siro, it could really help get the best out of the England international.

Going forward has always been one of Bertrand's biggest strengths. Last season, out of all the left-backs who played more than 15 games in the Premier League, he ranked fifth best for accurate cross passes per game (0.9) (as per WhoScored).

In a system that utilises the width like the 3-4-3 and 3-5-2, Bertrand could find himself getting into some really good crossing positions at Inter before punishing the Nerazzurri's opponent in question.

If Bertrand is looking for something different as he approaches 30, then he surely should look no further than Inter.
