Southampton fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to seek improvements in the next campaign after escaping the dreaded clutches of relegation by the skin of their teeth.
Indeed, the Saints won’t want a repeat of the last campaign as they were off the pace and almost suffered relegation to the Championship. Although, it looks as if Southampton are looking to get rid of one of their underperforming players, as according to Sun Sport, Feyenoord are set to throw Jordy Clasie a career lifeline.
Southampton flop Jordy Clasie is set to be thrown a career lifeline by former club Feyenoord.
The Dutchman has fallen out of favour at St Mary’s, and spent last season on loan to Belgian side Club Brugge.
And, it’s believed that Feyenoord now want to sign the 27-year-old as a replacement for Karim El Ahmadi.
So, it looks as if the Saints are set to wave goodbye to their midfield flop, with the 27-year-old previously voicing his interest in returning to Holland to play for his former club.
The Saints won’t be too bothered that the central midfielder is set for a move away from St Mary’s having seen how disappointing he has been during his time at the club. So, this is a step in the right direction for Southampton as they continue to seek improvements.
