Southampton should look to secure a return to the club for this Premier League striker

Southampton will no doubt have an interesting summer ahead of them again, with manager Claude Puel under threat and plenty of incomings and outgoings once against expected at St Mary’s.

The season was by no means a disaster for the club, and the once again secured a decent finish in the top flight, but they will need to do more to keep the fans on side next season and the Saints fans here in the Tavern have been crying out for more firepower to be brought in for a long time now.

One player our landlord has touted this week to the Saints fans is Arsenal man and ex Southampton forward Theo Walcott, who seems to have let his stock shrink a bit over the last 18 months with the Gunners.

Walcott though is a player who still possesses quality at Premier League level, and if he was played consistently and down the middle, many feel the goals would flow for the England man.

Walcott would definitely add something to the starting line up for Southampton, and he could function well with Dusan Tadic and Manolo Gabbiadini if given the chance.

Southampton fans, what do you think? Would you take Walcott? Let us know your thoughts!
