Southampton have definitely improved under the guidance of Ralph Hasenhuttl, despite finding themselves in the Premier League relegation zone.
The Saints will be keen to kick on in the second half of the season, with a couple of successful January transfer window moves helping them climb away from the danger zone.
However, it has been reported (as per The Sun) that Southampton’s South Coast rivals Bournemouth are set to bid £15 million for Chris Mepham, who is also one of Hasenhuttl’s targets.
Indeed, it makes sense for the Saints to walk away from any potential deal for the central defender as he has no previous experience at a high level, so he may be of no help to Southampton’s relegation fight.
With that in mind, Southampton should let their rivals have him and sign this STAR instead…
Tin Jedvaj made a name for himself in the Nations League for Croatia last year, as he managed to find the back of the net twice against Spain and put in an accomplished performance against England at Wembley.
He currently plays for German side Bayer Leverkusen and has managed to produce two goals in 15 appearances this season, which isn’t a bad return for a player who is mostly used as a central defender.
Indeed, the defender has the versatility to play at either right-back or at the heart of the defence, which would benefit Southampton massively as they’ve had to play Yan Valery on the right-hand side recently. And, with Champions League and Europa League experience under his belt at just 23 years of age, he is already moulding into a star.
