Southampton fans will be desperate for their side to enjoy a better season than the last as they escaped the dreaded clutches of the relegation zone by the skin of their teeth.
The Saints have already made a number of changes this summer as they continue to build for a successful campaign next time round. And, it doesn’t look as if Mark Hughes’ hard work will stop there, as according to Sun Sport, Sam Gallagher is a target for Championship side Stoke City.
Southampton striker Sam Gallagher is a £7 million target for Stoke City boss Gary Rowett.
Interestingly, the young forward is already a loan target for Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers, but the Potters are willing to sign him permanently.
However, Mark Hughes has been watching Gallagher in pre-season games after his return from a season at Birmingham and is in no rush to sell.
So, it looks as if Sam Gallagher will be heading out of the exits this summer as Southampton are looking to raise funds to push through a deal for Liverpool striker Danny Ings.
Although, having seen how impressive the striker was during his time at Birmingham City last season, the Saints may come to regret their decision to sell the star at some point in the future.
