Ralph Hasenhuttl has made an impression on Southampton already, as he has managed to help them start to climb the Premier League table.
The new Saints boss has managed to lift his side with some great results recently, however, it appears he could be looking to make changes to his squad in the January transfer window.
The Japan international has impressed in the Primeira Liga this season, having netted five goals and has provided five assists, leading to a number of European clubs to take note.
The likes of Manchester United, Feyenoord, Alaves and Freiburg are all said to have been in attendance during Portimonense’s 2-0 win against Benfica on Wednesday keeping tabs on Nakajima.
Valued at £13.5million by Transfermarkt, Nakajima has certainly impressed with his performances for both club and country during last summer’s World Cup.
Southampton are keen to add some creativity to their squad this January and the 24-year-old could be the man to help them improve.
However, with a number of clubs thought to be interested, they could have a battle on their hands to land the Japanese talent.
