Exciting news for the Southampton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
It has been a mixed start to the season for new Southampton boss Claude Puel.
It was a tough act to follow, having taken over from the overwhelmingly successful Ronald Koeman – but Puel is finally starting to settle into life at St Mary’s.
The Southampton fans in the Tavern were skeptical about the Frenchman at first, but they are finally coming round to him.
This season was expected to become somewhat of a transitional season for the South Coast club, and Puel is beginning that process with a change in personnel and tactics – ahead of what he will hope is a long tenure.
Puel certainly has a lot of work to do at Southampton to reach the levels of Koeman, both on and off the field, and it would appear that he is looking to get a head start on that process already.
According to CalcioMercato, Southampton are reportedly tracking PSV winger Luciano Narsingh, who would be available on a free following the expiration of his contract at the end of the season.
The article, which is very brief, does not provide any more information – but simply states that the club are keeping tabs on him ahead of a potential move later in the year
This will come as a boost to the Southampton fans in the Tavern, given that their one complaint of Puel so far was that the summer was relatively quiet from a transfers point of view.
Narsingh has picked up 20 goals since his arrival at PSV in 2012, and has recently impressed a few of the foreign football experts in the Tavern.
