Spain boss orders Chelsea star to change his approach

Costa 1Chelsea fans are debating whether the right move has been made in the Transfer Tavern, following comments from the Spain boss which could have an effect on their star-striker.

The Daily Express states Vicente Del Bosque has ordered Diego Costa to ‘smooth out’ his disciplinary problems, following a controversial few months for the Chelsea striker.

Costa’s aggressive approach was brought into the spotlight once again earlier this season following a clash with Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista and there have been a number of incidents since, which if seen by the match officials could have landed the striker in hot water.

Now, ahead of Spain’s clash with England this evening, Del Bosque has urged Costa to erase the disciplinary problems from his game.

“We all know Costa’s character anyway. Maybe he should smooth out his character a little bit and change some aspects of his behaviour, but we don’t want to change him. We knew what Diego Costa was like when we brought him over and we believe in him.”

With just one goal in a Spain shirt, the jury is still out on Diego Costa and there’s a lot of pressure on his shoulders after a woeful World Cup campaign last season.

Chelsea fans, would Costa be as good if he was to lose his aggressive edge? Does he need to change? Let us know in the comments below!
