Victor Valdes is the most successful goalkeeper in the history of a successful club whose successes last season brought quintuple trophies. Yet the Spanish goalkeeper, in spite of all these accolades, is yet to make his debut for the international side.
Iker Casillas, captain and prodigy of the Real Madrid youth system, keeps the thought of Valdes’ first cap away from the minds of many by a mere mention of his name or the mere sight of his erratic facial hair.
How Valdes must curse Casillas’ very existence. At any other time in history Valdes would have been an integral part of the Spanish international team. He would’ve had more caps in his locker than David Cameron could throw at immigrants. He would’ve been number one.
Yet, I can only guess that he can not be too down hearted with a beauty like model Yolanda Cardona consoling him. Unless of course she bought the new Spanish goalkeeper jersey, I suppose.
