It seems like the day of transfer blows to Premier League clubs and given the latest story in talkSPORT it seems things are not about to brighten up much. Both Arsenal and Liverpool are set to be disappointed at the news that Barcelona loanee Isacc Cuenca fancies another year in the Eredivisie with Ajax.
The talented 22-year-old is of course a product of the La Masia academy and eventually will return to Barcelona yet is currently on loan at the Amsterdam Arena in order to gain some first team football.
After terrible injuries this season curtailed his playing time, the player has claimed that instead of returning to his parent club or even to the Premier League where there are plenty of interested parties, he fancies proving himself at Ajax once more and staying with the Dutch club for next season.
He claimed to De Telegraaf that: “I hope to be able to stay for another year at Ajax – and Barcelona know this too. Because of injury I have not been able to play much, but next season could be important.”
Of course even if Cuenca was to make a temporary loan move to England, it would be just that – temporary with Barcelona set on allowing the player out to develop but always seeing a future for him at the Camp Nou eventually.
Arsenal and Liverpool fans. Did you really want Cuenca anyway or are other targets more important? Let us know your thoughts below.
