Metro have the entire pub sighing in relief here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that Gareth Bale finally looks to be on his way to Real Madrid.
The forward has been involved in a rather tedious will he, won’t he transfer saga this summer that quite frankly, our punters were getting more than a little bit sick of.
Now it seems Bale will be making the move after weeks of uncertainty after Los Blancos unveiled their famous Galacticos podium which as we all know, only gets put out when a big name is set to arrive at the Bernabeu.
This week it seemed that initially the £93 million deal for Bale was set to be completed, yet the with news that Chelsea had hijacked the move for Willian, fresh doubt was cast upon the transfer. Now Andre Villas-Boas and his board may well be fuming over their London rivals’ actions, but are still set to allow Bale to leave.
As one of our punters quips, for the money on offer, no one in their right minds would keep a player who wanted out, and Daniel Levy is more savvy than most when it comes to negotiations in the transfer window.
It is hardly like Spurs have been sitting around waiting to sell Bale and struggle this season however, with an influx of new top quality signings leading to some people even asking if they could push for the title this term.
Will Bale live up to the hype at Real Madrid? Let us know your thoughts below.
