Goalkeepers are the talk of the Football Transfer Tavern and it is claimed by Sports News Ireland that Barcelona have their eyes firmly on a Liverpool player.
Whilst the club are panicking about the future of forward Luis Suarez it seems that they have another battle on their hands if they want to keep goalkeeper Pepe Reina who is firmly on the radar of the Catalan giants.
Barcelona are of course looking to buy a new keeper after long serving Victor Valdes claimed that a new contract would not be signed and in the summer of 2014 will be free to leave the club to seek pastures new.
Now it seems that despite Brendan Rodgers claiming Pepe Reina will be going nowhere, now it could well be the case that the keeper is sold or indeed used as part exchange for Cristian Tello who is another player that has been linked with a move away from his current club – and we here in the tavern were only considering that possibility yesterday.
Of course should that move come off it also leaves Liverpool in the hunt for a new keeper and they are considering pouncing for Michel Vorm who of course Rodgers knows well from his time at Swansea City.
Do you think Liverpool will allow Reina to leave? Let us know your thoughts below.
