Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are feeling extremely disappointed as they look like missing out on Champions League football.
Antonio Conte has had a season to forget as he continues to lean towards an inevitable exit after a less than convincing campaign. Although, he may not be the only man heading for the exits in the summer months, as according to Mundo Deportivo, Thibaut Courtois is one of Real Madrid’s top two targets.
Real Madrid are in need of reinforcements in goal, with Keylor Navas turning 32 next season and Kiko Casilla set to depart.
So, with Jose Mourinho unwilling to sell David De Gea in the summer transfer window, it’s understood that Real Madrid have now identified Thibaut Courtois as one of their top two targets.
Therefore, the Blues could head into next season looking worse for wear, as the Belgian may look to move to Spain after struggling to achieve any success at Stamford Bridge in the current campaign.
Thibaut Courtois has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers in the current campaign as he often comes to the rescue, but he may opt to move away in the summer after a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge. So, the Blues may have to dip into the market for a goalkeeper in the summer, as an offer from Madrid may be too hard to turn down.
