The Daily Express have certainly managed to get both Liverpool and Arsenal fans running over to the bar here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they report that a La Liga star could well be for sale come the summer.
As one of our punters notes, as with most clubs in La Liga, Malaga will be forced to sell Ignacio Camacho should the right offer come in for him and it seems that the player himself is already laying the groundwork for a move to happen.
Fully aware of the interest from England, the former Atletico Madrid ace claimed: “We all know Malaga’s situation, which isn’t too bad, but they could be forced to sell for a reasonable price.”
Now as our landlord quips, that pretty much sounds like a come-and-get-me plea to us and given how desperate Arsenal fans are for a top class defensive midfielder, those comments have gone down like a storm here in the tavern.
However, before either club weighs in with a huge offer, the majority of our punters would approach this deal with caution. After all as Brendan Rodgers can attest, you never quite know who will flop and who will not.
Liverpool fans. Is Camacho the kind of player you need this summer or would you prefer much more of a household name? Let us know your thoughts below.
