It’s proving to be a busy summer for Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern but after the news coming from the Daily Mirror, signing two players in a few days is not so great any more.
This is because the publication reports that Atletico Madrid player Koke will not be on his way to Old Trafford – or anywhere else for that matter, electing to stay with the La Liga champions and continue his career there.
Koke has been a huge part in the success of the club and has even been dubbed the next Andres Iniesta with both Barcelona and Real Madrid sniffing around the player – but for now at least, they will have to look elsewhere.
Koke was asked about his future and claimed: “My future is with Atletico. I am happy in my club and now I have a deal and do not think about an exit.”
To add insult to injury, not only does Diego Simeone look like keeping hold of Koke, but he has rejected the chance to sign Nani after the Red Devils winger was offered to him.
Well as one of our punters quips, no wonder when Atleti have far more talented players!
Manchester United fans. Is this just a small step backwards or is missing out on a player as talented as Koke a massive blow? Let us know your thoughts below.
