The Daily Star have handed Manchester United fans new of yet another injury blow here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim Victor Valdes will not be ready to play for them until at least mid-December.
The issue United and Louis van Gaal currently have is that Danish international and second choice stopper Anders Lindegaard is looking for a new club come the January transfer window.
The Red Devils of course need to have a back-up option in place for David De Gea who experienced an injury scare following the international break.
The Red Devils are concerned that by rushing a transfer through for current free agent Valdes, this would only make his injury worse.
That is obviously not something they want to do and the Old Trafford club are even willing to consider reserve stopper Ben Amos should the need arise.
Now as our regulars note, United do not exactly have a mass of fixtures to worry about with the Red Devils out of the Capital One Cup and the Champions League not even an option for them this season meaning they can give Valdes a little more time to recover.
Manchester United fans. Do you think Valdes has a part to play in your attempt to get back into the top four this season? Is he ever going to get back to his best? Let us know your thoughts below.
