Man City are plotting a £12m January swoop for Germany left back Philipp Lahm.
The 26 year old is at odds with Bayern Munich and last month ripped into the club claiming,
“Top teams in the Champions League have first-class players in seven, eight positions – we don’t, other clubs have a system, a philosophy, and buy the players accordingly. We don’t. It’s not enough to buy good players, one has to develop a team,”
According to The Sun, Hughes flew to Germany to watch Lahm last month and his disenchantment at life in Bavaria will suit Hughes, as Wayne Bridge has been out of sorts thus Lahm, one of the best left backs in the world, would be a perfect replacement.
