Spartak Moscow eye £14.5m January swoop for Chelsea forward

RemyChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are checking to see how much they’ve drunk, believing the reports they’ve just heard just cannot be true.

Talksport reports that Chelsea striker Loic Remy is a January target for Russian side Spartak Moscow, who are prepared to pay £14.5m for the French international.

Remy rose to fame with QPR and Newcastle United but has failed to impress at Stamford Bridge, leaving him surplus to requirements and a likely candidate to depart the West London outfit in the new year.

Spartak currently trail arch-rivals CSKA Moscow in the battle for the Russian league title and they’re desperate to land a serious title bid in the second-half of the campaign, believing that Remy is the perfect recruit to spark new life into their challenge.

For the sort of price the Russian outfit are prepared to offer, Chelsea are unlikely to stand in his way and one punter in the bar has said that for £14.5m he’ll give Remy a piggy-back all the way to Moscow.
