Mesut Ozil was busy on Twitter ahead of Portugal’s first leg of their World Cup qualifier with Sweden yesterday evening, and it looks as though he got the result he wanted.
Portugal went on to win the first leg of their play off with Sweden 1-0, thanks to a late goal from who else but Cristiano Ronaldo.
The result means the 2006 semi finalists have taken a huge step towards qualifying for next summer’s tournament in Brazil, and knocking out Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden in the process – something it doesn’t seem Ozil is too fussed about.
Before the game, the Arsenal playmaker tweeted his former Real Madrid team-mates: “Cristiano, Coentrao, Pepe – you belong to the World Cup like Germany, spain or England. Good luck.’
So does this mean Ozil is not an Ibrahimovic fan?
