Down at the Football Transfer Tavern, we know, better than anyone, how quickly football changes.
Just over a month or so ago, Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner was a laughing stock for his playing ability and fashion sense.
However, after scoring the opener against Hull City – not Tigers, as one drunk customer kept shouting at me – and then having a goal wrongly ruled out for offside against Manchester City, our Arsenal regulars are beginning to warm ever so slightly to the cocky Danish forward.
The problem with the Arsenal punters is that they always need a scapegoat/laughing stock and it appears that they have a new one in form of Spanish starlet Hector Bellerin.
The former Barcelona youth player, for some bizarre reason, took to Instagram – by the way, is it worth me setting up a Transfer Tavern instagram account? – to show off his latest outfit, clearly having been influenced by his team-mate Nicky B.
The punters and I tried to describe what he looked like but the names the customers came up with are not ones I can repeat.
Take a look for yourself; I have sellotaped the image up over there, by the cutlery station.
