Things got a little heated in the Football Transfer Tavern, when Robin van Persie scored for Manchester United against Arsenal; so heated in fact that, two days later I’ve finally finished cleaning up the various snacks that were thrown.
The Arsenal punters were in buoyant mood before the game with various predictions going around about how many assists Mesut Ozil would rack up in the game.
The Manchester United supporting customers, though were in a subdued mood prior to kick off and it did appear they felt that Arsenal’s record signing would tear them apart.
Obviously, we now know that the Red Devils won 1-0 with a typically Everton type performance epitomised by the plaudits that Phil Jones received.
As I regularly mention, working in tavern doesn’t give me much time to check Twitter but the punters are always showing me bits and pieces.
The most amusing Twitter related thing I’ve seen was shown to me after the full-time whistle at Old Trafford.
Hackers aren’t welcome in the tavern but I couldn’t help but laugh at this…
