Chelsea fans filled the Football Transfer Tavern on Wednesday night, full of optimism that they would be watching their side progress into the Champions League Final.
When Fernando Torres gave Jose Mourinho’s side the lead, the Chelsea punters began dreaming of the final and researching flights to Portugal.
However, as I’m sure you can imagine, when Arda Turan tucked away Atletico Madrid’s third goal, a lot of the Chelsea customers ripped up their holiday request forms for the 24th May.
Once the full-time whistle came around, the punters gave it their rather, err, colourful match analysis – this included a few Liverpool regulars who couldn’t resist a dig and made a few rather witty parking the bus gags.
In amongst all the pints and opinions that were flying about, I noticed one lone Chelsea customer sitting in the corner, quietly sobbing to himself.
Some people clearly handle disappointments better than others…
