Yesterday, I finished my shift at the Football Transfer Tavern early, but instead of heading off I decided to hang around and watch the West Ham versus Chelsea game.
I joined a few of the Chelsea regulars at their booth and had several drinks bought for me – it was nice being the customer for a change.
Obviously, as a tavern employee, I remained impartial in discussions, but it was interesting to hear the Chelsea lads natter away.
Judging from their chat, it now appears they’re all pretty happy with Oscar over the delightful Juan Mata – again Juan, if you are reading, your drinks will always be on the house.
One topic of conversation that split opinion was the influence of Eden Hazard. The general gist of the chat was that there is no doubting his creative spark but a few customers said they wouldn’t have him in their starting XI.
It was then that Hazard set up Oscar’s goal with a delightful assist.
That silenced a few.
One bloke was something of an Eden Hazard ‘hipster’ proceeded to lead us all out to his BMW that was in the tavern car park, and showed us this…
10 out of 10 for creativity.
