When Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge, the punters and I were looking forward to some classic ‘Special One’ antics – and he duly delivered.
The tavern has been in stiches over Jose’s little one-liners in his press conferences, left baffled by his treatment of Juan Mata and angered by his post match reactions to the 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
But hey, I guess that is classic Jose.
Despite the fanfare around Mourinho’s return, things haven’t gone exactly as planned but the Chelsea customers haven’t lost faith in the man that delivered them so much success.
After the West Brom game, the Chelsea punters began chanting “Jose Mourinho” which brought out a rare smile from my landlord, who then proceeded to show me a statistical comparison between Jose and Rafael Benitez’s time at Stamford Bridge.
My landlord wanted to go over and burst the Chelsea fans’ bubble but I told him it wasn’t worth the aggravation (they’re a touchy bunch).
Before I throw the stats article away, have a quick gander…
