Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is plenty of things, but one thing he certainly is not – is subtle.
‘The Special One’ has made no secret of the fact this season he ‘has no striker’.
Besides Samuel Eto’o – a double Champions League winner with more than 200 goals over the course of his career.
Fernando Torres – a man who has won everything there is to win on the international stage, and who had a goal average of better than one every other game during his spell with Liverpool in the Premier League.
And Demba Ba – a man who was in the top four Premier League strikers of all-time in terms of goals per minute before his switch to Chelsea.
Oh, and there is also Romelu Lukaku – a player considered by many to be one of the most promising young players in Europe – who was inexplicably allowed to join Everton on loan at the start of the season.
Whilst Mourinho is considered one of the ‘best managers in the world’, he has somehow not been able to find a way to bring the best out of any of them, and resorted to playing a forward out of position in a Champions League quarter final to try and prove to the board he needs a top class striker bought for him – almost like a spoilt child who hasn’t got what he wants.
Mourinho was playing more blame games last night, with Fernando Torres supposedly the culprit for the 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
In fact, Mourinho was so upset with Torres’s cameo as a second half substitute, he’s put the striker up for sale on eBay.
No bidders just yet though!
