It’s been a while since Arsene Wenger got any criticism – eight games in fact – so we thought it was about time to change the record.
Even Piers Morgan has taken a break from giving the Arsenal boss stick after a run of eight straight victories in all competitions, which has seen them become the early pace setters in the Premier League.
Wenger got off to a flyer in the Champions League also, first and foremost by negotiating what was considered a tricky qualifier with Turkish giants Fernabahce with relative ease, and then by beating Marseille away from home to earn what could prove a crucial three points at the Stade Velodrome.
But ahead of tonight’s Emirates Stadium clash with Italian giants Napoli, somebody took the time to make this montage to remind us in emphatic fashion, that Wenger has in fact never won the Champions League or the trophy with the big ears as former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo famously called it!
The likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Vicente Del Bosque, Marcelo Lippi, Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, Rafael Benitez, Carlo Ancelotti and erm… Di Matteo can all point and laugh at poor old Wenger.
But at least the Arsenal manager can point to a lot of other recent successes trophy wise…. Oh wait.
