I tell you what, the former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, has certainly still got it.
Due to the inconvenient and rather mundane international break, I had to resort to putting Ivory Coast versus Senegal on, on the Football Transfer Tavern’s new 72-inch plasma because the punters get restless without some light amusement.
I have to say, for international football it wasn’t half bad and both sides had an array of Premier League talent on show, which always helps.
A couple of our Chelsea regulars began reminiscing about the times when Chelsea’s strikers knew how to, you know, score but that had nothing to do with the fact Salomon Kalou was playing but it had everything to do with the fact that Drogba was.
The Galatasaray forward looked like he could still do more than a good enough job for Jose Mourinho’s side and was instrumental in the Ivory Coast’s 3-1 weekend win.
After the final whistle, and before I started the pub quiz, I decided to check the Sky Sports News app to read their version of proceedings and I know Drogba was strong but not quite THAT strong!
