There were a few people who seemed genuinely concerned what Sir Alex Ferguson would do with his time once he announced his retirement.
When you’ve been doing the same thing for over two decades, to suddenly just stop must be a real shock to the system.
But luckily for Sir Alex, retirement has allowed him to do the one thing he could never do before. And that is follow his beloved Arsenal!
The former Manchester United boss (or maybe it’s a look-a-like..who knows?) was spotted in the crowd during Arsenal’s scintillating 2-0 Champions League win over Napoli yesterday evening.
Maybe that explains his constant dislike of Arsene Wenger – he was just jealous the Frenchman had the job he had wanted all along!
And maybe that explains why he recommended David Moyes as his successor … Is it a coincidence United are now in 12th and Arsenal are top of the league?!
He went disguised as a rubbish Jedi, so as not to upset Manchester United fans who will no doubt be devastated to learn he had different interests to them after all this time.
We here at the Football Transfer Tavern just thought you deserved to know the truth. We are sorry.
