The Football Transfer was around way before football was invented – I mean, pre-Premier League – so the landlord, our, erm, more experienced punters and I have noticed a lot of changes.
During the 80s the customers used to come in, in their kits (nothing new there) but the kits in those days weren’t plastered with advertising and obscene colours.
The landlord and I were tidying up last night and we were discussing this change in kits.
My word, I forgot about some of the horrendous kits we had witnessed: Nottingham Forest’s 1997 kit, Manchester United’s in 1992 and even Everton’s pink monstrosity from 2013.
However, despite some of the headache-giving colour schemes, we decided that nothing beats Liverpool’s away kit for this season.
It looks like the patterns you find on a bus seats!
Not to worry though, my landlord is a whiz on photoshop and found a way for Liverpool to hide the ‘zebra’ on their shirt.
What do you think, Stevie G?
