“Gait isn’t even an issue”
“Gait? My wife wants a new one in the front garden”
These quotes were various things I heard as I headed through the Football Transfer Tavern, making a beeline for the staff room.
Like every man and his dog does now, when I’m not sure on something I jump on Twitter and duly put in the hashtags ‘#gait’ and ‘#Henderson’.
Straight away my timeline was bombarded with various tweets; along the lines of (I have removed a few of the more colourful words):
“Fergie has always been jealous of Liverpool.”
“Jordan Henderson will become England’s Xavi; SAF knows nothing.”
“I love Jordan Henderson’s gait xoxoxox”
Admittedly, the last tweet was from a Jordan Henderson ‘fan girl’ (who knew they even existed) but it didn’t take me long to work out that Henderson was the latest high profile name to be slated by former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, in his autobiography.
I didn’t get a chance to read the extract from Fergie’s book because I had to start my shift but I have highlighted it to read later.
Take a look if you want.
