Sunday proved a day to forget for Tottenham fans, as Andre Villas-Boas’ side crashed to a humiliating 6-0 defeat at Manchester City.
Reports now suggest AVB is fighting to save his job, after a display he described as ’embarrassing’.
And to make matters worse for those poor Tottenham fans – who had travelled several hours to Manchester to watch their team concede after 14 seconds and then simply fall apart – were then forced to endure stick from jubilant City fans throughout the afternoon.
The blue half of Manchester has earned a reputation for synchronised celebrations in recent years such as the Poznan, but Sunday saw them come up with a brand new routine, specifically designed to mock Tottenham fans.
Each goal was celebrated in unison with the trademark heart/owl celebration made famous by former Spurs hero Gareth Bale.
Nobody is quite sure what the world’s most expensive player was trying to create with the hand gesture we saw so often last season, but Tottenham fan’s didn’t care as long as they kept seeing it.
But after Sunday’s game, i’m sure Spurs fans would be happy if they never saw that celebration again.
