A few punters mentioned, on Wednesday night, that they were pleased to be watching Manchester City take on CSKA Moscow from the warmth and comfort of the Football Transfer Tavern because the Russian capital looked bitter.
We have one, slightly odd, customer who wears his obscenely bright Hawaiian shorts whatever the weather but I reckon even he would have popped a pair of gloves out on the Luzhniki Stadium turf.
Luckily for several punters’ bets and, obviously, Manuel Pelligrini & co, the Premier League side secured a vital three points thanks to Sergio Aguero (anyone bored of saying that already this season?).
Despite achieving a hard fought victory, the main talking point around the Tavern was a rather pathetic picture of several Manchester City substitutes that was doing the rounds on various social media sites.
A rather amusing comment from my Landlord was that the City players all looked like they were having a sleepover round Gael Clichy’s house for his ‘Sweet 16’ Birthday party.
