School days are over for all of us inside the Football Transfer Tavern – we don’t encourage underage drinking – but we wish this map had been available to us a few years back!
Teachers would often drop lines such as: “If you put as much passion into your work as you did your football, you’d be top of the class” or some garbage to that effect.
Well now someone has had the genius idea to combine both, by constructing a map of Europe with the names of players of that nationality rather than the countries’ rightful title.
Is it an easier way to remember the position of European countries?
Or is it simply stupid?
Only way to find out is to give it to schools and find out. Who knows, this time next year we could be getting a pride of Britain award for services to teaching!
But perhaps the most likely outcome is for a row to erupt over which player represents which country.
Gerrard for England instead of Lampard?
Casillas for Spain instead of Iniesta?
One thing is for sure however and that is the rather hilarious European locations of Manchester United star Ashley Young and Liverpool ace Luis Suarez!
The pair both find themselves plotted in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea respectively for their efforts of the diving variety as does Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets who finds himself somewhere in the North Sea and slightly south of Iceland!
Over the years the triplet have certainly not covered themselves in glory for some truly shameful fake feigns of injury and now they’ve all been left at sea where they rightfully belong!
