Manchester United

Spoof: Manchester United star owns a fan on Twitter!

Isn’t Twitter great?

It gives fans the opportunity to engage with their heroes, and the opportunity for players to converse with the ordinary fan on anything they so wish.

And in Wayne Rooney’s case, he likes to get involved with supporters in petty arguments over spelling.

Who knew spelling would be something that was so important to Rooney? Of all the thousands of tweets he receives every day, he opted to reply to one that gave him stick for spelling Brazil with an S.

Who really cares?

Apparently Rooney does. As not only did he reply, he posted a picture of the official Brazil (sorry, Brasil) shirt, which does indeed spell their countries name with an S, to prove his point.

Maybe Rooney is on a mission to prove to all of us he isn’t as stupid as he looks. That he is in fact as passionate about spelling as he is about money – sorry, Manchester United.
