The Football Transfer Tavern was a sea of emotions on the 12th May 2012, when Sir Alex Ferguson gave his Old Trafford farewell speech.
In amongst my job of consoling fully-grown men in floods of tears, I remember a key point from Fergie’s speech and it was that the fans job was now to support their new manager.
If the Red Devils in the tavern are anything to go by, I don’t believe the fans are listening to SAF’s plea.
When I made this point to a bloke, who was yelling a torrent of abuse at the plasma tv everytime Moyes’ face appeared on it, he said:
“Why should the fans support and back that fool? Especially when the players themselves aren’t even listening to him!”
It appears Wayne Rooney & co have had enough with the former Everton manager, too…
