Despite a hat-trick against Manchester United last month, Chelsea fans have still struggled to warm to Samuel Eto’o.
Perhaps it is partly down to the fact that during his time at Barcelona, he was quoted as saying: “I would sooner sell groundnuts in my home village than play for a pathetic club like Chelsea.”
Chelsea fans have long memories – just ask Rafael Benitez – and so despite the fact Eto’o has been the club’s main striker for the majority of the season, he hasn’t sold many shirts.
We very much doubt the Cameroon international cares much though.
Because his decision to join ‘a pathetic club like Chelsea’ was probably down to the fact he was being offered £130,000 a week by a Russian billionaire.
Yet still, with all that money, Eto’o still can’t afford socks!
