2013 proved to be quite a year for Michael Owen.
One of the best English centre forwards of all time announced his retirement from the game in March, and got himself a nice little job as co-commentator on BT Sport – where all the cool ex-footballers hang out.
There have been a few concerns for Michael however, that he is simply too boring to hang out with the likes of David James, Owen Hargreaves and Steve McManaman on a regular basis.
He’s never had a wacky hairsytle like Jamo, he’s not a bit Canadian like Hargreaves, and he never won the European Cup like Macca.
You only have to look through Michael Owen’s Twitter to see the kind of guy he is.
He is the sort that tweets his followers for advice on whether he should wear his thermals whilst commentating, as he is going out afterwards and doesn’t want to be sweaty, but at the same time he doesn’t want to risk catching a chill – quite the dilemma.
But here at the Football Transfer Tavern, we have unearthed a tweet to put to bed all those boring rumours surrounding Michael Owen – with his most exciting Tweet of 2013.
‘Just ran over a rabbit. Devestated,’ tweeted Michael in October.
