It’s the news all Liverpool fans have been desperate to hear – except not quite.
Luis Suarez has been in the form of his life this season, scoring 17 Premier League goals in just 11 appearances to help the Reds to second place in the table, just two points behind leaders Arsenal.
It is form that has encouraged Liverpool to offer the forward a new contract that would see him become the clubs highest paid player of all time, and is clearly an attempt to avoid another transfer fiasco, the likes of which we saw last summer.
Suarez very publicly attempted to engineer a move away from Anfield in the summer, which has cast doubt over his long-term Liverpool future.
But it seems one Reds fan has come to the rescue, by drawing up a new five year contract for Suarez, and getting the star striker to sign it!
The fan was in attendance to see Suarez win the Football Supporters’ Federation Player of the Year award this week, and was smart enough to draw up the contract on a napkin before getting Suarez to sign it by asking for an autograph.
So relax Liverpool fans, Suarez is staying. We have it in writing!
