One of the things I enjoy most about my job, at the Football Transfer Tavern, is the fact I never know what my landlord is planning.
Yesterday, I returned from my lunch break to find an impromptu FIFA 2014 PlayStation tournament was beginning.
Naturally, arguments broke out over choice of teams, the length of the games and the style of tournament that should be selected.
I managed to grab a slot in the competition but because I was late, I was left with the last Premier League team available, David Moyes’ Manchester United.
An amusing coincidence meant my game was against Fulham, who were being managed by a punter not too many were fond of. Rumour has it, that this customer once stabbed his best friend in the back; he joined his mate’s business as a Head Coach but weeks later, he had replaced his friend – not cool.
Everyone was rooting for me to do what Robin van Persie & co had struggled to do on Sunday and defeat the resilient Cottagers.
I’m confident I will win because I’ve designed a special controller that suits my tactics perfectly.
