Chelsea captain John Terry was recently spotted Christmas bargain hunting in Poundland.

The former England captain – who earns a reported £170,000 a week – was spotted shopping in the Woking branch of Poundland by young Chelsea fan Jack Jeffrey. It seems JT is being stingy on buying Christmas presents this year!

The 17-year-old described the moment he met his hero.

‘My mate asked him if it was OK to have a picture. He was happy to let us.

‘It was weird just walking in there and seeing him. He had a lot of stuff in his basket but I didn’t really see what it was.

‘When I told my friends they were shocked and wished they had met him as well. He’s probably one of my favourite players.’

The 29-year-old lives in nearby Oxshott, in a purpose-built mansion named Willowfield. The mansion is complete with nine bedrooms, a cinema, a fishing lake and a swimming pool – and now plenty of Poundland Christmas pressies!
