Poor Juan Mata.
Chelsea Player of the Year two seasons running at Stamford Bridge, an FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League winner with the Blues, and then some self announced Special One turns up and drops him from the first team.
Mata started as a substitute once again during yesterdays 1-1 draw at Tottenham.
After a dismal first half display from the Blues, Mourinho turned to the Spaniard who came on and provided the equaliser for John Terry – justifying those claims that he should be a regular starter.
He has remained professional during the difficult opening weeks of the season, but a snapshot taken from yesterdays game may give away his real feelings.
As Mourinho patrolled the touchline, Mata sat fixated on his boss with a look that hardly said everything is all good.
It ended happily for him however as he got to come off the bench and play his part in what could prove a decent result for Chelsea.
I wonder if it will earn him a start next week? Probably not…
