Sky Sports have found themselves under more pressure than perhaps they are used to in the last couple of months, and the signs are there that the cracks are beginning to show.
The introduction of BT Sport poses the biggest threat to Murdoch’s empire since … well, probably ever.
Whilst Sky have stood firm in the face of previous rivals ESPN and Setanta (remember them?) BT Sport have genuine ambitions to take over as the number one sports supplier in the UK.
That means the pressure is on at Sky more than ever before, and it seems to be taking it’s toll judging by the fact that their employee’s can’t tell the difference between Andre Villas-Boas and David Haye.
Sure, accidents happen – but could these guys be more far apart?
AVB, the smartly dressed, mild mannered, school teacher type and David Haye – a WBA heavyweight champion with more confidence than Cristiano Ronaldo!
To be fair to Sky, BT Sport had their own Tottenham related graphics mishap the other week when ‘pundit’ David James predicted Spurs would finish 8th in the Premier League table … Hang on.. that was genuine?!
