Daniel Agger was rumoured to be top on Juventus’ wish-list of defenders as their bid to rebuild their squad and bring the glory days of old back to Turin continues apace.
However, according to Itasportpress, Tottenham have emerged as late rivals for Agger’s signature, with Harry Redknapp confident of persuading the Dane that his future lies in the capital.
Well, Harry may be right there, although maybe not quite in the way he intended, as Arsene Wenger is also believed to be keen on securing Agger’s services, as reported by TuttoMercato.
Arsenal are in the hunt for a defender to bring some much-needed stability to their back-line, and are also being linked with Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Werder Bremen’s Per Mertesacker.
Yet with both valued around the £15m-£20m mark, Agger would be a much more affordable option, with Liverpool demanding a fee of £10m.
So the Italian media appear to have reached a consensus that Agger will snub Juve for a Premiership club.
Liverpool fans: would you sell him?
Arsenal and Spurs fans: would you pay £10m for him?
